Since it has become painfully evident to me that I get the most views when I post chicks on the blog (and I don’t mean a few, I mean a LOT more), I’ve decided to try and keep this thang goin’. Initially, I thought Perry was pretty but not a super hottie. Then I saw some bikini shots on Egotastic! and thought what the hell. Whatever you think about her music is irrelevant right now. About this song: I wrote this on the car ride back from my uncle’s house where I basically learned that I can’t move back with him to North Hollywood. Why? Well, because I can’t afford it. It basically showed me that I need to “Get my shit together” and get a 2nd/better job.  But amidst the sobbing- because I felt rather hopeless about everything at that point, the words started coming to me again. And I didn’t want them because I knew they wouldn’t put food on the table or pay the bills my mom struggles with for the both of us. I kinda wanted this to be my last song. Of course, we all know that won’t happen…but for that moment, I was done. Though it may not be my most lyrical song, it is definitely inspired.

Please, help me. Let me know that you’re out there…

1. Never, ever, ever tell a girl that you’ve never kissed anyone (or that you’re a virgin for that matter.)

Now, why am I posting this and sharing with the world my fuck-up-ery when it comes to the opposite sex? Because I have a lot of friends who are nice but who may not necessarily understand certain things about girls. And while I am no expert (understatement of the millennium), I probably put myself out there the most out of our group- hence “The Rules.” No dumb pick-up lines or anything like that, just things I’ve learned and will share so that my friends and any other reading this won’t have to repeat my mistakes (or, hopefully, read about/learn from my successes).  So, before you move on, I want you to read the aforementioned rule and think about what it means to you and why it is a “rule.”

Got it? Ok, good. Now, why is it important you ask? Well, you should ask yourself that question. Why is it important? Why would I want to tell someone I’m on a date with that this is the case? Sure, you might be worried that when you do kiss and/or have sex, you’ll suck at it. Don’t worry about it now, worry about it when it happens. Besides, society has this stigma about virgins: that they will all suck at these things when honestly, that can’t be true. I ‘ve talked to some female friends and even though I’ve never done the deed, I have a much better understanding of what to do then A LOT of guys who have already gone through it.

Ok, back to the point. Why should you tell someone that you’ve never kissed anybody. Well, because once you do, chances are they won’t want to kiss you. Yes, I speak from experience.

Does that mean she doesn’t like me? Absolutely not! On the contrary, she didn’t want to “ruin” the experience for me. She assumed that I wanted a relationship and that I’d rather save it “for someone special.” And as much as I hated hearing that, it  makes sense. Being someone’s first is a lot of pressure too, ya know! You have to be able to look at it from not only your perspective, but hers as well.

However, I am hit a lot with the feeling that I’m “too pure” for them or that they’re “not a good enough person.” Then of course, they never tell me why, and the great divide that is miscommunication just grows and grows.  Bottom line, the girl I’ve been dating (but will no longer be since I am soon moving to North Hollywood) may have made out with me had I not told her that I had never kissed anybody.

I know you don’t want to lie; neither do I. Honesty is really the best policy. BUT, at the same time, you HAVE TO BE SENSIBLE! Just because you don’t wanna lie doesn’t mean you have to put it all out there from the get go, or that you have to sabotage yourself. Because in the end, whether it’s your first time or 100th time, it doesn’t really matter anyway.

But please, don’t let my mistake be made in vain. Follow the rules!
